Tottenham were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield in their Carabao Cup semi-final decider.
Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Liverpool levelled the tie through Cody Gakpo in a first half which saw Spurs lose Richarlison to a suspected muscle injury.
Mohamed Salah put the hosts in front in the tie from the penalty spot after Antonin Kinsky caught Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai made it 3-0 with a cool finish.
Virgil van Dijk headed home a corner late on to rub salt into Spurs’ wounds, as Liverpool set up a meeting with Newcastle at Wembley next month.
Here’s how we rated the Spurs players…
Antonin Kinsky 4
Rashly raced off his line and fouled Nunez to concede a penalty for Liverpool’s second goal. Looked jittery under high balls but made a sharp stop to tip a Salah effort over the bar.
Archie Gray 5
Stretched at both right and left-back, and might have got tighter to Gakpo for the opening goal.
Impressed on debut, getting his body in the way of a number of shots and looking to carry the ball out of defence where possible. Tired in the second half but on first viewing, he looks a smart signing.
Ben Davies 5
Lost van Dijk in the build up to the fourth goal. Soldiered on after suffering a cut head early on but it was a rough night against Liverpool’s forwards and midfield runners.
Djed Spence 6
Stood up well to Salah at left-back before switching to right wing for the final 30 minutes, where he tried to beat his man whenever possible.
Yves Bissouma 3
Repeatedly loose in possession, including ahead of Liverpool’s opening goal.
Struggled to make any impact on the game against Liverpool’s all-action midfield and was largely a passenger.
Pape Matar Sarr 4
Tracked Ryan Gravenberch closely but offered little in possession.
Dejan Kulusevski 4
Nowhere near his combative best in a tired-looking performance, full of loose touches.
Heung-min Son 4
Struggled to make any inroads against the excellent Conor Bradley but did strike the bar in Spurs’ best chance, albeit at 3-0 down.
Richarlison 6
It was hard not to feel sorry for him when he went down in first half stoppage-time clutching the back of his right leg, having suffered what appeared to be another muscle injury. Had been working hard up to then.

Mathys Tel (Richarlison 46’) 5
Struggled to make any impact on his Spurs debut and was easily outmuscled by Liverpool’s back two.
Lucas Bergvall (Sarr 57’) 6
Added energy to a Spurs midfield which was consistently second best.
Pedro Porro (Bissouma 57’) 5
Struggled to get into the game or keep a handle on the lively Gakpo.
Mikey Moore (Davies 82’) 5
Barely got on the ball as Spurs faded.
